I sat at my desk, staring at my laptop's screen, the clock at the bottom corner reading 9:17 PM and below it that read 4/28/2012. I was in my white tank top and purple flannel pants, my hair in a low ponytail that's hanging over my left shoulder. A blank word document teasing me, saying "I'm going to fail my essay if I don't come up with something to write". I listen the song "Safe and Sound" by Taylor swift-even though she isn't my favorite singer-through the front speakers of my laptop as I look around the room for inspiration. The essay is a story, and it has to be a love story. I've never written one before, so it's very difficult for me to figure out how I should start.
I'm about to fall asleep in my chair when I hear a loud 'Bing' come from the computer, and I jump a little, not expecting the noise at all. "Who would message me this late at night on a Saturday, of all days? Isn't everyone supposed to have a life?" I only make the comment because I have no life.
I open the message and see that it's from Kiku:
I understand that you are at home writing an essay, and I am sorry if this interrupts you if you're not done. As you know, Arthur and I started making the dating simulator you gave us idea's for, and he just sent it over, saying he fixed the extra bugs and that someone needed to test it out. He recommended you, since he knows you like to play games like this." I feel kind of offended and guilty, since I do play dating sims a lot, knowing I'll never possibly have a real boyfriend, "If you could possibly play this game when you aren't busy, I would greatly appreciate your feedback. The sim takes at least 12 days to finish, but that depends on how much you play per day. You and I had discussed the plot earlier, but Arhtur changed it completely, and it came out better than our other idea, so you won't already know the plot and this'll be like any other sim game to you.
I decided to close down word, since I was getting nowhere with the essay and it wasn't due until the 11th of May, and opened up the file for the sim that was attached to the message. As I waited for it to load, there was a bunch of cute little chibi characters walking across the screen, or dancing to the music that was emitting from the loading screen. I smirked as I saw one blow a kiss to me. He looked kind of like Francis, but he seemed to be a more dull character. Then two in a fight at the bottom corner of the screen caught my eye.
There were these little speech bubbles that came up from both of them, but there was only random scribbles instead of words, some of the 'words' they were supposedly saying were in red. The two characters looked similar to Alfred and Matthew. But, the one that looked like Matthew looked too strong and loud to be him, and the one that looked like Alfred had more reddish hair and a baseball bat. Not to mention he looked like the kind of person that always had a bad attitude. Watching the little people is always amusing.
I see a tall blonde man with a lot of scars talk casually with an evil looking brunette man that is shorter than him and a black haired man in a black uniform that is shorter than both men. I see another blond man, the same height as the evil looking brunette, walking with another dark brown haired man with a scar. And he seems to be talkative and happy about something. But the squiggles instead of words makes it difficult to tell what he's so happy about
heck I can't read squiggles, so I'll have to make up a conversation
why can I only think that he's talking about tomatoes?
I start to get bored of the loading screen, when I see a cupcake randomly pop out from the side of the screen. Shortly after, a blonde man followed. His hair is a pale-ish blonde, and he has a large smile on his face, which seems to never falter, even when he bends over and picks up the cupcake. That's when, somehow, his gaze finds mine. If possible, his smile widened and he waved, as if he knew I was there. Then, a small chatbox popped up, and there was a speech bubble above the chibi man. [Hi there!]
So, the loading screen was also interactive? Neat. I click the chat box and type "Hello."
After sending it, a small bubble with my response popped up at the side of the screen, next to where he was. [What's your name?] He asked me, a small blue question mark popping up near his head as it tilted slightly to the side.
I typed back "Meredith."
He seemed interested in my name. [That name is unique. I rarely ever hear it anymore.]
It's true. Meredith is a very uncommon name. I only know one other person named Meredith, and she is my best friends sister that I've never met before. I'm about to type something back when the screen goes black, then flashes color back into my face and the start page is in my face, playing some pretty catchy music. The start button is a big purple heart that has a pink outline. Scroll my mouse over to it and click, when all of a sudden, the screen is turning all white and green lights seem to fly out of my screen and around me. Then, everything goes black.
